Rough Lightning Ridge black opal specimen
$1,180.00- Giant piece of raw seam opal mined at Lightning Ridge, in far north western New South Wales, Australia. It is a very rare occurrence to achieve a singular piece of rough opal this size, and even less likely to see one on the open market, as there could be a million dollar gem hidden under the surface.
- Black opal is the rarest type of opal in the world. Seam opal is one of the 2 main formations it is found in. They other formation is ‘nobby’ opal.
- The piece weighs 248gm, and measures approximately 125 x 70 x 53mm.
- This would make a very nice high end desk piece.
