One of the nicest examples of Queensland opalised wood (rare boulder opal formation) that i’ve owned.
It weighs 11.36ct and has exceptional gemmy play of colour sitting dominantly between pastel green and orange, but also has arrays of reds and blues. The surrounding matrix is very strong and has a great polish with no pitting which is quite common for this type of opal.
Set in a very austere 18ct yellow gold rubover setting, and attached to a beautiful 18ct gold chain. I chose this style of chain because it can easily be modified to accomodate extra jump rings in case you would like it shorter on certain occasions. It’s current length is approximately 48cm.
